Most visitors to this blog come looking for words. Not just any words – sexy ones. My most popular posts by far are The Sexy Thesaurus and The Sexy Thesaurus 2.

But there are a lot of words, and so far I’ve only covered nouns and actions. So today I’m very excited to announce (drumroll…)

A THIRD SEXY THESAURUS.

In this post, I’ve focused on description words. There are a lot of these. More than you can imagine. More than I could imagine, in fact, which is why this post took way, way longer than expected to write. Like the action words, many of them can be used in many contexts, but I’ve done my best to group them here. (Example: someone can have rough breathing, rough fingers, grab someone roughly… the possibilities are endless, really!)

These aren’t all adjectives – some are technically verbs or nouns that describe a response to a sexy action. Again, this is where the categories get weird.

Most exciting: this includes the VERY commonly requested synonyms for wet and synonyms for hard! (See bottom.)

As usual, these don’t encompass every word ever (only the ones in the books I sampled), and they aren’t limited to words I like. Some are cringe-inducing, some blush-provoking, but I have not discriminated in collecting a varied assortment here.

My sources, as always, came from my own overloaded bookshelf: A 2003 Mary Lynn Baxter Contemporary Romance, a 2000 Barbara Metzger Humor/Regency Romance, and a 1992 Jude Deveraux Western Romance. Of course, I’ve also consulted my own contemporary erotic romance novella and my NEW collection of steamy shorts!

Most Requested!

Their Bits Were:

There are two general categories here. Very commonly, I’m asked for another word for “wet” (with vaginas in mind) or another word for “erect” (with penises in mind). But there are other parts that become inflamed with blood or increase in moisture! To be more inclusive (I’m a bisexual gal, what’d you expect ;)) I’ve simply divided them by “moisture” and “swelling.” Not all words will work for all parts, so discretion is advised.

MOISTURE SWELLING
creamy alert
damp aroused
drenched bulging
flooded came to attention
glazed chiseled
glistening distended
juicy erect
moist extended
pooled flaunting
 saturated flushed
shimmering hard
 slippery jutting
succulent large
swimming plump
 thick rigid
wet rosy
stiff
straining
taut
tense
tight

upright

Phewwww. Hot and bothered yet? Happy writing!
